WHY INDOOR NETBALL
Indoor Netball is becoming one of the most popular mixed team sports in Australia. The indoor aspect gives the game more of a social and fun environment for continued play with less stoppage than its outside partner. We have both mixed and ladies competitions available to play. We have competitive and social games available.
Rules of Indoor Netball are similar to the outdoor version, but for those who have never played; the basics are:
• 7 players per team, each with a designated position and a zone of the court they are allowed to move within. Mixed team are allowed a minimum of 2 or a max of 3 men.
• Extra players are allowed, but substitutions can only be made between quarters or if an injury occurs
• Each match consists of 4 x 9 minute quarters (players may change positions during any quarter-time break)
• Netball is a non-contact sport and defenders must remain 1 meter from the ball-carrier at all times to avoid obstruction penalties
• Our courts are slightly bigger than an outdoor court (34m x 18m) which means there is out of bounds and off court (We do not play off the net)
